The Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982 (Licensing of Short-term Lets) Order 2022 came into force on the 1 October 2022.
This legislation places a requirement on Dutyholders, of Short-term Let (STL) premises, to apply for a licence in order to operate.
A fire risk assessment for a holiday let is a legal requirement and essential for making sure the property is safe for guests. It is intended to ensure possible risks have been checked and the correct safety features have been put in place.
